Howard Schwartz is a veteran trial lawyer and litigator with more than 25 years of high level, sophisticated experience in business and commercial disputes in multiple jurisdictions, including New York and New Jersey. He has been first chair and lead trial counsel in cases concerning contract disputes involving purchase and sale of businesses, close corporation shareholder conflicts, employment discrimination, intellectual property rights including copyright and trademark rights, both in international arenas and solely in the United States.
He has represented the successful party in an arbitration with 3 arbitrators over 76 days of testimony concerning the sale of a business, a restrictive covenant and patent interpretation.
During the course of his work, Mr. Schwartz has represented multiple parties in a single case, worked with General Counsel and business executives to analyze risk, to determine whether to initiate a case, to determine when to settle, if at all, and the overall strategy to apply to a particular set of facts and circumstances.
Representative clients represented by Mr. Schwartz were public companies, including one of the largest pharmaceutical companies and one of the largest book publishers in the world, the producer of “the Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” the authors of “Grease,” the author of “The First Wives’ Club,” a contract manufacturer of confectionary goods for one of the largest food companies and one of the world’s most prominent luxury resort management companies.
Mr. Schwartz represents small family owned and operated businesses and individuals, providing them with the high level, sophisticated care to successfully resolve each crisis and dispute.
Mr. Schwartz graduated from New York University School of Law, was a master of the John H. Lifland Inn of Court, listed in Who’s Who, listed in Best Lawyers of New Jersey, Best Lawyers of New York, and a lecturer for ABA sponsored CLE.
